The inevitable deadlines: a race against time
For companies with a total energy consumption of more than 2.5 GWh: The time has come. By 30 June 2024, you must not only have recorded your total energy consumption, but also make implementation plans for economic energy efficiency measures and your waste heat potential publicly available. This is not a mere formality, but a fundamental reorientation of how your company views and utilises energy.
The unavoidable introduction of an energy or environmental management system for heavyweights with a total energy consumption of more than 7.5 GWh: it is not enough to implement just any system. The law requires the introduction of a management system that meets the strict standards of ISO 50001, or alternatively an environmental management system (EMAS) by 28 February 2025 at the latest. The time you have to do this is short – and the countdown is already running.
